I heard about Bad Apples a little while ago from a friend and have been meanign to check it out, especially since it's one of the few places which are opened "late" by Perth standards. Around a month ago, the opportunity arose to visit Bad Apples. A few friends and I caught up over drinks and dessert at Bad Apples on a Sunday night. As it was a Sunday night, it was a quiet night, with perhaps 20 or so patrons. Bad Apples has a reasonable large indoor area which consisted of a bar area and lounge area. There is also a small outdoor area, which would be nice on a warm night.
As it was a fairly chilly night, we opted to sit inside in the lounge area. The insides were nicely decorated and from the looks of it, they had an extensive range of drinks. We decided on a few teas to warm us up and an apple crumble to share. A friend of ours was also having some chips craving so we ordered that too.
The service was reasonable prompt but they often left us to our own devices, hardly checking up on us other than to let us know the kitchen was closing if we still wanted any orders. This allowed us to catch up in peace. Perhaps it would be quite different if we came on a Friday or Saturday night, but I found the vibe relaxing and it's somewhere I would come back again, especially when it's one of the few places opened late in suburbia. Restaurants and bars come and go often in Perth, hopefully this one will stay.
